solution pan
   Shallow solution basin or closed depression formed on bare limestone, generally characterized by flat bottom and overhanging sides [10].
   The initial form is a closed hollow created by a humus patch. It may have over-hanging side walls and a flat floor covered by algae and small pieces or broken rock. Diameters are rarely greater than 15 cm [3].
   Synonyms: (German.) Kamenitza or Kamenica, opferkeßel; (British.) panhole; (Spanish.) tinajita.
